Terms of Service

Images submitted to the competition are stored in a common photo gallery from which they are freely available for any of the above purposes after the end of the competition. The photographer information and image source are prerequisites for displaying the image. Images can be downloaded by registering to the website. Images can be downloaded for a period of five years after the end of the competition.

The organizer reserves the right to publish the first name, surname, home town and home country of the participating photographer in all competition-related contexts.

2. Party responsible for the register
The Regional Council of Kainuu has the main responsibility for the register. Kouta Media Ltd. is responsible for the register’s technical implementation.

3. Name of the register
The register of participants of the photo contest “Century of Nature Photography in the Barents Area.”

4. Purpose of the register
The gathered personal data is used for any eventual contacts with the participants. By entering the contest, the participant gives the organiser the right to contact him/her in connection with a matter related to the images belonging to the contest. The contact information is also gathered in view of contacting the winner of the contest. The gathering and use of the information is performed in accordance with the Personal Data Act, Chapter 4, Section 19.

5. The register’s information contents
In the register, the following data is presented for each person: first name, family name, e-mail address, telephone number, address and country. The information is gathered on the photo contest’s internet pages using the contest’s entry form.

6. The principles for securing the register
The information in the internet pages’ register of users is saved into the register holder’s system as a computer file that is protected by the operating system’s protection software. Entering the system requires a user name and a password. The system is also secured with firewalls and other technical means. Only certain predetermined employees of the register holder may access the personal data saved into the system. The personal data contained in the register is kept in locked and guarded spaces.
